Apply Coppercoat & Calculate the quantity you will need

by admin

The Coppercoat it can be placed on all types of boats, regardless of their size and use. Although polyester boats do not need any primer, wooden and metal hulls should follow the primer application procedure. For metal moving parts of the boat such as propellers, we should mention that the adhesion is not like that of the hull. The Coppercoat do not place on the sonar or anode eye.

Designed to be user-friendly, this non-toxic solution should be mixed very well and painted simply, with a roller or spray gun.

To achieve completion for a vessel, 4 thin layers are sufficient Coppercoat , painting the next while the previous layer is still fresh.

How much will it take?

To be able to calculate its quantity Coppercoat needed, multiply the length of the waterline by the sum of the breadth and draft. Then, depending on the hull, apply a multiplier:

Ø For motorboats and yachts, use a multiplier of 1.

Ø For medium-sized boats such as keelboats, multiply by 0.75.

Ø For light craft such as small boats and boats, multiply by 0.55.

When dimensions are given in feet (ft), multiply the result by 0.093 to convert to square meters (m²). Given that the Coppercoat covers about 4 m ²/ lit ., divide the result by 4.

Examples

1) For a motor vessel with a 30 ft waterline, 12 ft beam and 2 ft draft, it will be calculated as follows:

30 x (12+2) = 420 ft ² x 0.093 = 39.06 m ² / 4 = 9.76 lit . That means you'll need 10 Coppercoat , since they are offered in packages of 1 lit.

2) For a light craft of 26 ft waterline, 11 ft beam and 5 ft draft, it will be calculated as follows:

26 x (11+5) x 0.55 = 228 ft ² x 0.093 = 21.27 m ² / 4 = 5.31 lit . This means you will need 6 lit Coppercoat , since they are offered in packages of 1 lit.
